Blood tests/Injections during fasting

Question:
I have a blood test appointment in two days.  Can I have the blood test whilst fasting? Will it break my fast? Is it permissible to have a blood test whilst fasting?
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is permissible to have a blood test whilst fasting.[1]  However, it may weaken a person.  Therefore, it may be advisable to postpone the blood test for after Ramadhan if it is not urgent.

I will be travelling soon and therefore I need to have a meningitis vaccination injection.  I can only do this whilst I am fasting.  Is it allowed?
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
A fast is broken when a substance with a discernible body reaches the digestive system via the natural openings of the body like the mouth, rectum, nose etc.[1]
The above does not take place in meningitis injections.  Therefore, it is permissible to be vaccinated by means of injections whilst fasting.[2]
