Women in haidh performing HAJJ

http://idealwoman.org/2013/please-advise-on-a-woman-having-her-haidh-cycle-during-the-five-days-of-hajj/

Question:

Please advise on a woman having her haidh cycle during the five days of hajj?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.
If a woman experiences her haidh (menses) while in Hajj, especially in the five days of Hajj commencing from the 8th of Dhil-Hijjah till the 13th, she will do everything as a Hājjī[i] is required to do. She will go to Minā on the 8th, Arafāt on the 9th, Minā on the 10th, 11th and 12th. Obviously, she will not perform Salāh in the state of haidh.
The only issues she has to take into account are as follows[ii]:
  1. Tawāf-e-Ziyārah.
Tawāf-e-Ziyārah is Fardh (Compulsory) and is an integral part of Hajj[iii]. The time for Tawāf-e-Ziyārah is after pelting the Shaytān on the 10th of Dhil-Hijjah, after returning from Muzdalifah. A woman in a state of haidh cannot perform Tawāf-e-Ziyārah as a woman in haidh cannot enter the Haram in that state[iv]. She will have to wait until her haidh is finished to perform her Tawāf-e-Ziyārah[v].[vi]
  1. Tawāf-e-Widā’.
The final Tawāf before leaving Makkah al-Mukarramah is called Tawāf-e-Widā’. This Tawāf is Wājib (Necessary). If a woman in haidh has done her Tawāf-e-Ziyārah, but did not do Tawāf-e-Widā’ due to her haidh and it is already time to depart[i] then she may leave out the Tawāf-e-Widā’. There will be no damm[ii] on her for leaving out the Tawāf-e-Widā’ due to her haidh[iii].

Question:

I intend to go on hajj this year. However, I will be menstruating whilst traveling so i will be pure just in time for hajj days. My question is, do I go into ihram from point of meeqat? And do I have to stay in ihram till I become pure and perform umrah? This will end up being a number of days of menstruating, possibly 5, so Im not sure what Im supposed to be doing.

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Sister in Islam,
It is necessary to go into ihram at or before the meeqat irrespective of whether one is menstruating or not. If you are in the state of haidh while you are in ihram, you cannot perform Umrah. Therefore, you should wait until you become pure before you perform Umrah. [1]
